Valve seat part numbers?
Anyone have the exhaust seat part number handy? I want to replace all my exhaust seats and valves in this engine.

Re: Valve seat part numbers?
I have this sealed power # for a exhaust seat in a 230 L head engine # 245-1625-1 standard material and # 245-1625-1N for premium material.

Thanks, I appreciate the info.

Re: Valve seat part numbers?
That number doesn't seem to work anymore. I looked at the M37 parts replacement pdf on Garbee's site and those numbers aren't working either.
Can someone point me in the right direction for these exhaust seats??

Re: Valve seat part numbers?
If your truck gas the 230 engine go to RockAuto.com input a vehicle like a 55 Dodge Power Wagon with the 230 engine and go to the engine parts page under valve seats. They are available for around $3-7 each. If your truck has the 251 go to a 61 or older Power wagon and do the same thing. This is where I found the original number as the engines are the same mechanically except for a few minor things.

Thanks, I will try that!

Re: Valve seat part numbers?
I think I figured out part of the problem. All anyone lists is the intake seat, which stock engines didn't have AFAIK. The above part number is an intake and is the wrong size. I have the dimensions of the original exhaust seat but am having a devil of a time finding a match at NAPA online, etc.
This leaves me with the unpleasent task of actually going down to NAPA and having them stare at me when I tell them what it is for, since that is all they know to ask.

Re: Valve seat part numbers?
Sorry the parts are not what you wanted. I should have measured mine to check for intake versus exhaust seats. VPW has the seats advertised on their engine parts page. Part #CC868888A at $42 a set for a 230 or 251.

Re: Valve seat part numbers?
I can get you some valid #'s on Monday at the shop. Most of the time we counterbore and replace the intake seats also. Let me know if this will help and I'll make a note so I don't forget to get the info.

Hi Charles,
If you could post those numbers I'd appreciate it. I am evaluating the intakes now.

Re: Valve seat part numbers?
The numbers are SBI brand, SB1516E-1 Exhaust, SB 1625-1 Intake. Block must be counter bored to accept the intake seats if they must be replaced.refit1701 wrote:Hi Charles,
