How many tie-down hooks for top on back of cab??
How many tie-down hooks should be on the back of the cab. These are the hooks where you tie the canvas top down.
The reason I ask this, is because the number of hooks is different on my two trucks.
On truck #1, from door opening to door opening, there are locations for a total of 5 hooks. One one each corner just behind the door opening, and 3 evenly spaced across the back of the cab.
On truck #2, there are 7 locations. One on each corner of the cab just behind the door opening, and 5 evenly spaced across the back of the cab.
There are no unused mounting holes on truck #1, so it appears it never had more than 5.
Which is correct? Were some M37's built with 5 and some with 7??
Thanks,
Jeff

5 or 7?
This was discussed on the forum pre-revamp (crash, that is). If my memory serves me, the answer is yes. Some have 5, others have 7. I'm not sure that we found any rhyme or reason to it. (My 1951 has 7).

# of tie downs.
Mine has 5. 1 behind each door, and 3 across the back.
Original production had more tie down hooks than later production. The cabs all had the indents for the extra hooks. Someone posted the list of production changes here once......
The 51 models have all the bells and whistles like the access cover under the passenger seat to adjust the parking brake.....
