M37 Batteries / Battery Box Fitment

Post by dispatcher1011 »

Hello,

Anyone ever put two Optima batteries in the stock M37 battery box? If so, what size/ group did you use?

I think I have figured out which ones will fit, (by spec) but I wondered if anyone had actually done this.

Thanks!

You just need to compare your military battery size to the Industry standard battery grouping chart. Be careful and take actual measurements of your box clearances just in case your boxes are not bone stock.

Also you have two options on battery box size. The standard dual 2HN battery box and the optional larger dual 6TN battery box.

The 2HN batteries are L-10 1/4" x W-5 5/16" x H-9" and the closest civvy battery group is 22NF but others will also fit.

The 6TN batteries are L-11 13/16" x W-10 9/16" x H-9" and the closest civvy battery group is 24F but others will also fit.

The TB 9-2320-212-20/2 covers the conversion from dual 2HN's to dual 6TN's.
