Brake lines
The guys on this forum are better than the Books! This weekend or next is going to be the big day for the brake job. A quick question on attaching the lines to the wheel cylinders. I see a crunch washer on the top side of the block that attaches to the cylinder. Is the mating surface on the bottom machined to be "Gasket less"? Any special tricks...In the past, in dealing with hydraulics these type of fittings were plug and play. We are dealing with arcane technology with the "M", so any and all experience tips are appreciated. Once again...Thanks...John

Crushed
Just my luck...The new wheel cylinders only came with 1 crush washer...
Guess I'll just have to hit up napa. Or try and reuse one. Maybe work, maybe leak like a sieve. I've had it go both ways. Thanks Charles. I appreciate picking your brain...John

Re: Crushed
Watch out for this also; some of the washers that come with new cylinders are very thin material. They will leak sometimes because they are too thin to crush out a proper seal. The inner & outer are 2 different washers, picking them all up at NAPA is a good idea.ELBUFO wrote:Just my luck...The new wheel cylinders only came with 1 crush washer...

THIN
Thanks for the info on the possible thinness of the washers that come with new cylinders. I will check against the old ones knowing that they were crunched. Since I have to hit napa for the missing ones I will double check the new ones against theirs.
