Still alive, received a new to me kidney, truck in driveway
Folks,
Been most of two years, been tough and rocky as hell. Dialysis wasn't doing that well for me, chemically or mentally. Was considering "checking out", however wasn't inclined to leave family or my dogs left without my presence.
15May this year got the Call, folks in Portland, OR found just the right one, and off Momma and I went.
Been seven months since transplant. Feeling better than I have in years, trying to catch up with past few years of nothing compounded boredom....
My M is still in tons of parts all over shop, frame is on jack stands in driveway.
Have taken time recently to get reloading cartridges going again, some part time firearms tinkering, learning how to have energy to actually get off backside and work at "life' again.
Still kicking!

A heartfelt "Welcome Back Kevin". Listen to your docs but make sure they also listen to you, that's just as important. God bless you and yours.

WELCOME BACK KEVIN! I WISH 2012 BRINGS YOU GOOD THINGS

LIFE IS SHORT AND ENDS UNEXPECTEDLY. MAKE EVERY MOMENT WORTH REMEMBERING.
Re: Still alive, received a new to me kidney, truck in drive
Folks,
2012 continues to do well for family and I.
M-37 project is on hold. the one and a half trucks I have worked from sandblasted frame out may be traded for an already streetable M-37 that I helped buddy work over about eight years ago.
He wants to train his young son on mechanics that our M trucks teach, older style non electronic, everything mechanical and replaceable.
I have taken time to do things with mine such as have all friction surfaces repopped in modern materials, paying attention to have things as trouble free down road as possible.
Long story short, looking at having a truck I can use now, taking a paper loss of about 2500usd, obtaining a rough but street usable truck NOW.
Son and I found and brought home a sweet little 1966 Mustang coupe, rough and ugly. Body and fender man I trust and use services of says "...little car is VERY fixable.." Ian wants to dig deep into this sled and spend his time and love on it, rather than the M...
He and I are in discussions about just what will get done and when
Still kicking. coming up on my first anniversary of transplant 15 May upcoming. Still working on strength, that comes up a bit more every day.
Regards folks, thanks for kind thoughts and e.mails, appreciate the concern and care!

Kevin,
I hope you're going to the Portland MVPA National next year, as I'd like to meet you-just to wish you well, if nothing else. Glad your health is still improving!
