Starter ring gear replaced...

Post by Cal_Gary »

Got my flywheels back from the shop yesterday-installed the civvy flywheel with new ring gear today, crossed my fingers and hit the starter: turned right over with no skipping or grinding-AT LAST!! Always an awkward moment cranking the grinder up in a crowd. Now that this is fixed I continued on, installing the clutch, T/O bearing w/carrier, then the transmission/PTO set up and buttoned them all up. I still need to install the floorboard panel and the PTO shift lever and boot-just couldn't face those floorboard bolts after all of the other work today. Probably not just me but I'd rather swap the engine before wrestling with those doggone floorboard bolts! They are just a pain-having to pry, flex, influence, and cuss before each bolt starts properly.... Could be worse though, I hate stripping paint most of all....
More to follow,
Gary
