251 c.i. distributor shaft

Post by m37jarhead »

The engine on my m37 is a 251 c.i. It requires a distributor shaft that is 1/4" longer than the 230 shaft and must have an
offset tang. My engine came to me as a basket case. The correct military 251 c.i. distributor shaft should measure 5 1/2"
from the bottom of the distrib. mounting plate to end of the shaft. (The 230 shaft is 5 1/4".)
Do any of you have one of those longer shafts?
I have several 230 distributors in various states of dis-repair that I would trade. Maybe two or three 230's for one
shaft, or would be willing to buy a 251 shaft outright. The shafts are interchangeable so I don't necessarily need the distr. housing, just the longer shaft.
Please advise via this post, or PM.
Thanks,
Jerry

OK.......cancel the request. Got a 251 cu. in. distrib. shaft shipped to me by Brian Asbury in Canada. See his ad in
Military Vehicles Magazine. Brian is great to work with. Call him with your needs.
