Hello, again. I wanted the year of manufacture, quantity and other data that may arise from the Serial Number of my M37.
The Serial Number is: T 245 02044

Yes, I'm sure. The number is on the chassis of my M37. My M37 was imported to my country (Argentina) by the local army.

This looks like an engine serial number. Did you look on the frame in the left front wheel well? It should be punched into the frame rail there.

you will see that 3 other trucks have a 't245' serial number and are from 1960. yours may be also.

btw, does anyone know anything about 't245' serial numbered trucks? like why they broke with the normal numbering scheme? or anything else about them?

Two of the three serials listed starting with T245 XXXXX are in Argentina and one is in Howe Tx.

The following pages list the M37 series production dates, serial number and quantities. Each table covers a specific serial number range, there were five distinct serial numbers used, 800xxxxx, 802xxxxx, L245-xxxx, 2661-xxxxx, 2668-0-xxxxx. In addition to this official list of serial numbers, I have one report of an M37 serial number T245-xxxxx. This vehicle also has a delivery date of 1960, when no M37s were shipped. Perhaps a B1 prototype?

This info would lead me to believe a batch of M37B1's were built for export to Argentina in 1960 and one found it's way back to the US in Texas.

i suspect there is more to the mystery of the 't245' serial numbered trucks as i know of other one in new hampshire. if anyone has the whole solution, i'm all ears. probably so is carlos.

I'm from Argentina. M37 in my titles says it is 1968 model, but may be a mistake of those who entered the data.

There is a little bit of information in Zentmyer's book on the M37. Chrysler switched to model year production (July-June) from calender year production (Jan - Dec) in 1960. He states no 1960 model year trucks were shipped. The serials on 58-59 trucks were prefixed with L245 XXXXX and he gave an example of serial prefix as T245 yet he does not list any T245 serialed trucks. Then he goes on to say the first trucks shipped on the new model year system were the 1961 model year which began in July 1960 and their serial was prefixed 2661-XXXXX. It may be that those very first 1961 trucks built in July 1960 used the old serial prefix system with the T245 prefix.
