Wes's post is just more proof that my 1953 is almost unchanged from the factory except for the change from M-37 to M-42 and back. If anyone has any questions as to what was factory correct on an early model truck feel free to drop me a line.

Sal,

The M101 series trailer was produced early without turn signals and late with. The parts manuals for the M101 series show the difference and I imagine the using agency just ordered the later lamps or the bracket for the bullet lamp. The M101 had no factory turn signal provisions. The M116, M116A1 and M101A1 did have the two left red lens equipped round lites and the small BO stop lite. The Composite setup came around the end of A1 production and covered the A2's.

Not that even though the bracket shows up in the both the maintenance and IPL portions of the 14P it is not listed in the parts list.

Wes, what documentation do you have to support this statement?

I don't. I assumed everything built in the late 60's on came with them. I'm not a late 60's guy. If they didn't that's fine with me.

Thanks Wes, I did not want to tell B1 owners that only composite lights were correct for their rigs without some proof that I knew what I was talking about. My friend Ralph has a B1 and it has the early style lamps and a bullet B/O marker and bracket like the one I pictured earlier in this thread and I wondered if these was not right for his truck.

The B1 wiring diagram in the manual shows the early distribution box type turn signals and two left tail light assy's and a BO stop bullet lamp so I would assume the B1's at least early on left Dodge with the bullet light set-up.

That's what I have observed on the B1s I have looked at.
