Gents:
As with all things, Now that I have my cummins, a smoking deal pops up locally on another engine that I really dont need. It's a John Deere 4029T 4.5L turbodiesel. It's in a street sweeper right now, so it has a variable speed vehicle governor on it. I think it would be a nice fit into an M-37, very similar to the Cummins 4BT. As I said, I don't need this enigne, don't even have anything to put it into, but, I would be willing to pull it for someone on the group here and sell it for a bit more than the guy that has it currently to pay for my time and effort. It has a transmission behind it, not sure what model or type yet, as I didnt get a chance to take a good look at it. The only issue I see with getting it to fit in an M37 would be the top mounted turbo and air cleaner. The sweeper has a very tall engine bay, and as a result, they top mounted the turbo and air cleaner in it. It could be converted to low mount with the right manifold though.
Id sell it for $1750 complete with the transmission. I plan on heading down there on Saturday to take some pictures of it, and figure out what it has for a transmission behind it.
