I'm not at all sure what you have done, when reading your post, sounds like you may not have it in the right location.

It is a push pull system and for it to work the circuit can not be broken so you most likely will not detect any air flow but you can add a vacuum gage to see it function.

Charles, I replicated the factory distributor/coil venting on my straight intake with a K&N filter. The fittings might be a little further away from the carb since it is a 6" straight pipe and I had no 90 degree bends. I wanted to see how much air flowed, so I disconnected the line from the fitting facing into the air flow, and I could not feel anything coming out of it. My original air cleaner elbow does not look exactly like the one in TM 9-8030. On my elbow, the vent lines are on the rear side, and nearly at the same height. The holes are on a flat section of the intake and the first is one inch from the end and they are about 1 1/4 apart.

Has anyone here actually felt how much air comes out of the airflow facing fitting on the air cleaner elbow?

Thanks hb. I realize it is a closed loop designed to work in conjunction with each other. I am just curious as to how much air flows out of the one forward facing fitting. I was underwhelmed by the airflow coming out of that fitting. I am just going to assume there is air flow when everything is hooked up. I am not sure how I would add a vacuum gauge to the system, unless I used temporary lines.
