Weird one for you guys!

Post by 98taco3 »

Ive definitely got an odd parts procurement issue  . We are in need of a set of fuel tanks for a M4A3 Sherman Tank. Even ones that are rusted out, really just need a pattern to build new ones for it. Of course servicable or repairable ones are better but that is most likely dreaming. It is holding up reinstalling the engine since they have to go in first. Does anyone have ANY clue where to look? were out of ideas!

Even a few decent photos or drawings of them would be good!

Take a look on the Steel Soldiers web site (www.steelsoldiers.com). They have a section on tanks/armored vehicles. I'm sure someone there can point you in the right direction. They may even have a T.O. with dimensions, etc.

Have you also post a thread over in the armored section of www.g503.com message boards? that forum seems to have a lot of traffic.

Try these lads on the Isle of Wight. I think they've done an M-4. I think the engine type might be a factor but these guys will know.

Found 2 tanks! Guess they are on a truck headed from the east coast to colorado right now. Hopefully they are decent enough to patch up and use as is!

Who had the gas tanks? If you don't want to say on the open forum, please send me a PM. Thanks

That i do not know. They were found at aberdeen by the collection owner as far as i have been told. They are just the upright rectangular tanks.
