dodge m37 light switch

hi,i seem to have a problem lately with the circuit breaker tripping when i try to turn on my headlights,i've tried swapping breakers,i've double checked for bare wires,my connection nubers are all ok,are these switches prone to failure ???,i tried another light switch as well,any ideas anyone ????,thanks

Exactly the same thing happened to me when I replaced the 3 lever switch. Turned out that the previous owner had screwed up the connections at the back and hadnt followed the proper wiring diagram and when I tried to re-connect - bang!
Only took a few minutes with a multimeter to find the fault and fix it properly.

Doubt if you have the same problem but I would check the switch carefully.
