I have a relay which is powered by the ignition switch. It controls my fuel pump. In addition to that, I have a switch which in series with the relay's switched contacts. This way I can have the ignition on for any reason I want, and the pump will not be running. It is handy for working on the electrical system. In time this relay will be controlled by an oil pressure switch, but I have not gotten to that yet.SOTVEN wrote:SO, TO RUN AN ELECTRIC PUMP YOU NEED TO WIRE IT FROM A DIFFERENT SOURCE? (IE A SWITCH?) WHY NOT WIRE IT FROM THE IGNITION? TURN THE ENGINE PUMP WORKS RIGHT AWAY? RIGHT?

Good morning, I replaced my mechinacal pump with a Bendix 24V some time ago, it has preformed beautifully. I do not need a pressure reg, but I bought one just in case. I wired it thru the ignition switch, but have to agree; its probably safer to wire thru an oil pressure switch, but as stated above you lose the priming ability. Your choice, but a great up-grade. any body want to buy the pressure reg, its a holly adjustable, let me know at LOKEYNYC@AOL.COM.
