I need to buy a complete exhaust for my 52 m-37,does anyone sell the complete setup or do i have to buy everthing peice by peice,and what is the difference between the 1 peice or the 2 peice engine pipe,thanks Tony

Tony,
New production one-piece exhaust pipe, muffler , and tailpipe are available. Midwest Mil, AB Linn, and M-Series sell these at a fair price per piece as do some others. Call them and I am sure they can set you up. Some vendors (not the ones above) ocassionally sell it as a package on ePay but at an insane profit (I have the pipe vendors price list LOL) and at twice the normal shipping rates. Avoid that. Give your cash to the guys who are here daily and help us out.
As for the exhaust pipe, I had always wondered if the original two piece design had something to do with the expansion/contraction of the exhaust manifold? I am not sure. I see alot of the new style one-piece pipes on rigs though.

I bought the one piece pipe from Midwest Mil, that runs from manifold to muffler. Just an easier piece to install IMO than the original two piece type. I then bought a repro muffler and original tailpipe and all the brackets, etc from Sid Beck. I had to tweak the one piece pipe where it attaches to the manifold, maybe it was my truck's manfiold(industiral engine), but the one piece has a small amount of pipe sticking above the flange that had to be cut off before I could mate it up to the manifold. The whole system works great.

I replaced mine from the exh manifold back. There were 2 places where the pipe extended beyond the welded flange mounts -one like yours and the other on the muffler end. These are a quality problem with the parts themselves I was told. A simple sawzall job. The only other change I needed was to grind a flat spot on the flat washer for the rear manifold mounting hole because there is a large radius on the casting which did not fit well. I used flat washers to spread the clamping load on the manifold versus just using the bolt head diameter.

I would be remiss w/o mentioning John @ Mid-West Mill, they are all the cream of the crop! Still can't find AB info!

Charles is the only one w/a page, both AB & Sid use the phone & email, all three are super people to deal with. I cannot find either #'s now, I check back later if no one has added them. Personally I liked the the two piece pipe, but the swing bolts (for the manifold) are sometimes hard to find!
