It Finally Happened..

Post by HingsingM37 »

Well gang after being king of the local cruise-ins for some time I went to a show Saturday and for the first time another M37 showed up. I made a new friend who says he has "a barn full of parts...". Andy, the owner, lives about 15 minutes from me. Small world. There was also a nice civvy truck there owned by a local policemen who lives just a mile down the road from me. I have two new Dodge brothers in town :)

That is quite a coincidence, a barn full of parts. Too bad you didn't meet him earlier, so any more awards this go around?

I fell in love with the flat-fender Power Wagons back in the '50s, when I was still a kid. Then, I saw an M37 when I joined the AF in '61 and fell in lust all over again. Am I fickle or what? ;)

Well yes, I did not want to brag but there was an award for best Military:

Don't I look happy in the 90 degree sun? LOL. They did not have that catagory but invented it that day. They had a best foriegn but since no imports showed up they gave it to me. The plaque actually says "best Foriegn". They are supposed to send me a new plate
Actually I was hoping the other gentleman would get it, his distributor vent lines were actually installed properly and had the original vacuum wipers with all of the fording valve plumbing as well.

 As of Sunday I have racked up 1145 miles on the M since hitting the pavement last Memorial Day

An interesting note on the civy PW. The show was actually in honor of that gentlemans father Robert who owned a "hybrid Civilian PW" until he passed away last year. I say hybrid because according to his son Jeff, Robert had always wanted a shortbed PW with a Carryall hood and grill. So that is what he built. I saw a pic and it looks great. That truck was not there as it is still at his Moms and not driven for sentimental reasons. I look forward to seeing it up close sometime. We all made plans to convoy to the local "All Mopar" show Labor Day weekend. 8)

Before anybody reads too deep, Let me clairify that my vent lines are installed correctly for distributor ventilation but are not routed correct. I have not had a chance to rework them.
