Glad to hear it was just a low spot in the build up. We've all suffered from those days at some point or another. With all the complicated engineering out of the way without a hitch, you were due for a headache....(no pun intended...

fenders/running boards/grille will be 2006 Mazdaspeed6 Mica black. It's teh color on my daily driver. Nice car, nice color. Has a subtle tone to it, not jet black, a touch of pearl, with moderate metal flake.
cab tub, hood, doors, bed, etc will be 2010 Toyota Magnetic grey Metallic. A dark, rich grey, with lots of metal in it. Will be slightly boring looking in the dark or overcast, but should really pop together in the sun. I took the grey pant chip and laid it on the hood of my car in the sun and it looked great.

ohhh man Josh I am glad the monster build is back !! Yup the Sh*t hits the fan for all of us once in a while. I have tried for 50 years to tell my self just put it down and walk away for a while ....put it down and walk away for a while.....and it ain't easy to do that

The paint scheme sounds very good. Kinda of a modern take on the old power wagon colors. It should look great. What are you doing for rims and rubber?
M37s are HMMWV in my world!

Thanks, I think it will look nice, hide body damage, and my less than epic painting skills, haha.
I would love a set of 40 or 42" Michelin XML or XZL, but will probably have to settle for some 38" XLs for now. I'll see what I can rustle up at Iola this year. The XMLs are gettig very hard to find.

Thanks for the link Ray, but I already tried him. He hasn't seen a set of XMLs or XZLs in a long, long time. He has a ton of XLs, but getting them shipped from California makes them cost prohibitive. There is a place called Stazworks in mid wisconsin that has them for same cost, and I can go pick them up. I'm hoping and keeping ym fingers crossed I find a set of XMLs at Iola.

I've dealt with John at Stazworks - good guy - I ordered the bead lock inserts for my H1 wheels from him. They make nice stuff...

cab has rejoined the frame!!I I can now work on getting a running chassis in parallel with finishing the body work, then once both are ste to be married, it will go fast, completing the assembly!

More work done, all parts are in primer, of some variety! Almost ready to shoot the fenders, grille, and running boards in black.
Took out a loan for 4K, should be just enough to finish. Didn't really want to, but, also dont want the build to stretch out into next summer, it needs to be done this summer. Once they put the cash in my checking account, I'm going on a spending spree!
Filled the brakes and clutch with fluid, bled them, and they work flawlessly, no issues at all. My clutch calculations were spot on, just right on travel, with good feel, and not too heavy, especially considering the clutch set I picked out is rated to 800 ft-lb of torque!
Will take the rear shaft up to MSI in Green Bay tomorrow, get that cut down to 37" long, both axles are done, T case is done, need to finish the T case linkage on the side of the trans, then I can fill it with fluid, and all the drivetrain from the bellhousing back will be set. Just need to order some parts for the engine, and I can final assemble that, and light it. Give me a month-month and a half, and it will be done.

having a VERY hard time finding tires.
If anyone knows of a set of XL's, XZL's, or XML's for under $300 a tire, PLEASE, let me know! Looking for a 38 or 40" tire with a 16" rim size. Apparently, the government has stopped selling off the surplus ones so the ones that are out there are all that are left.

Have you thought about Humvee tires. Gensco in Anniston,AL had a lot (several thousand)of nice mounted wheels and tires for $125 each about a year and a half ago. They're 37x12.50 R 16.5 on 8 lug rims with a lot of back spacing that should work well for you. Just a thought
