Pre-bent brake line sources

Post by rc51racer »

I'm looking to get some pre-bent brake hard lines, I've look around briefly and see VPW sells a steel set with armor for a reasonable price.

I'd like to get stainless or instead of steel so rust isn't an issue.

Does anyone know of a source of pre-bent brake lines for the M37?

You MIGHT be able to buy pre-bent ones but I doubt many are sold that way. The packaging and shipping for a long thin spindly odd-shaped brake line would be expensive! I expect most is sold in a roll or in relatively short straight lengths (so it can be bundled). Check out Josh's thread on his rebuild. He's using US made Copper-Nickel-Iron brake lines that are supposed to be rust proof and he says that they can be bent by hand without collasping. I don't know where he's buying them from but they sound like they might be good stuff to use.

I bought a set for my M38 and it was well worth the money. Mine came from Midwest Military. I'm sure most vendors get them from the same source. The real long ones were bent around in a long arc and straightend out well. I personally would get the prebent ones.

I got mine from Vintage Power Wagons. They were pretty close and just needed a little tweeking here and there. I think about 150.00 I can't remember for sure.

I got the set from Midwest and it was worth every penny. The lines were dead on and fit perfectly. A great time saver :)
