Well friends I never thought this day would come, here it is Saturday morning in the paint booth:

The solvent prep and masking took much longer than I anticipated. As I left this in the capable hands of my friend John's body shop, they were very precise. No newspaper ,plastic bags, and Wallmart masking tape as I would have done
I realize now why I am no bodyman. I would not have the paitience to do this. Saturday was mostly prep so it is going to be finished up Sunday evening. The tailgate, some hardware and the cabtop got done first Saturday to give him a feel for shooting "Old School" Alkyd enamel again. Being a business he was "mandated" to convert to water based paints.
He has three enviromentally controlled paint booths. It is very interesting the science involved versus my "at home in the garage" work.
Here is the roof:

It will be baked (not fried)and pending weather I should bring it home Monday evening

That's outstanding, David! I'll have to "field paint" mine-can't afford tp go the booth route (but wish I could have). Nice job!

Looks great! The color is perfect. I noticed in the last picture where the light is hitting the front clip that it has that more kaki OD color just the way it's suppose to!
Great job! Sigh now that I have a new job maybe I'll have the money to start getting mine done...
