I know this topic has been broached many times in the past but in doing a search I'm having a tough time finding a simple picture/document that explains what adjustment screws do what. I just finished rebuilding my carb and would like make sure the settings are close. I did find some pictures of the original carb manual online but had a very tough time figuring out how to download them without joining another group to do so.
Anybody have something really simple???
Thanks in Advance!

It doesn't get any simpler than pages 195 thru 198 of TM 9-8030 Operation and Organizational Maintenance manual. Figures 101 and 102 show it all.

Carb adjusting
Wes;
I did read through those pages and they will help with linkages etc.. I was more concerned with the idle mixture and idle speed screws which it says I need to use a vacuum gauge. Is there a starting point to set these at?
Thanks

Start with the idle mixture screw Gently turned all the way in until you feel it touch the seat Gently. Now open it 1 1/2 turns.
Preset the idle speed screw per the 8030 pg 195 - 197 par 134b.
Connect vac gauge and tach.
Start the engine and warm it up. If the idle speed screw setting won't keep it idling just bump the screw in a little until it will idle without you operating the throttle. Let the engine warm up at a fast idle by setting the hand throttle to about 1000 to 1500 RPM. This will keep her from loading up during the warm-up. When warmed up open the throttle a bit to clear her out then let her return to the existing idle setting. Then follow par 111(3) on page 141.

Wes;
It worked great!. Truck idles much better but more importantly, it starts much easier when hot than it has in years. Apparently the adjustments to the idle and throttle cable assembly made a big impact.
Appreciate it!

I finally got mine on the road last week. Not the truck's fault. Spring is my busy time of the year.
