I took my truck out yesterday for a short drive. I had to wait till the wife got home before I could take off(kids were playing with their friend in the front yard and didn't want to go), so I just drove up and down our street to kill some time . Anyway I'm at the stop sign about to do a U turn when this guy in a 1960's Porsche rolls to a stop at the intersection. He immediately pulls up alongside of me and we start shooting the bull. I find out his name is Roger and his buddy just laid down the cash for two M37's up in Connecticut, evidently unrestored, etc. He asks if he can bring his friend by one day to look at my truck, so I say sure why not and give him my number. Crazy how these trucks have that draw to them.
When I did finally take the drive about 45 minutes later my one son went with me. Many people were out and about since it was such a nice day out. Got many a friendly wave. Felt good to get the truck out again.
Funny who you meet......

Hey Nick, good encounter and story. It's always nice when you meet a stranger who actually knows what an M37 is and is intrested enough in what they are seeing to want to talk to you about it. That's a great way to start the good weather driving season.

Too true!
I bought a new Dodge Ram in December. I live in Vermont and of course found the truck of my dreams, in Costa Mesa California. My local dealer bought it, I traded my truck in locally and flew out to drive it home. I had 2 1/2 weeks to make the drive, and with the exception of one night in a motel, I stayed with Power Wagon friends all along the way. Great trip!
Anyway, right after picking up the truck, I stopped for gas. As I was filling it up, I turn around and see a great looking M37 pull in and start gassing up too. I went over and chatted with a man and hid Son, they were just out for a drive. It would have been nicew to chat further, but it was starting to rain and they wanted to try to beat the storm.
Another chance encounter!

Encounter
Yeah, by the way the guy opened his part of the conversation with "you know anybody with one of these for sale?" I think he was hinting around if I'd sell mine. It didn't dawn on me of that fact until later. My truck isn't for sale, but I'd probably let it go for a large sum of cash. So, I will see if the guy calls to bring his friend around. If so great, if not, no loss to me as I don't know this guy from Adam.....

Nick,
Glad you had a fun cruise. These rigs sure are attention getters. Let's hope the big snows are done. I hope to get mine out this weekend and road check my new pinion seal. Theres a big lifted Chevy Suburban running around my neighborhood thats needs some competition

Yeah I don't think we are going to get any more snow, at least I hope not. I put the snowblower back in the shed yesterday. Hopefully I won't have to dig it out again until next year.HingsingM37 wrote:Nick,
