changinf the generator
Does anyone know for sure if the 24v alternator has the same mounting points as the 24v generator? I was thinking it did since the 100 amp gen. also fits a 715 which used the alternator. Was considering converting if it did although Id have to make up some wiring changes as well.

My experience
I swapped out for a 60A mil. alternator and it fit just perfectly. I did have to change the pulley, but that was a piece of cake.
You can trust your mother, but you can't trust your ground.
The mounting points are the same but the 3 groove pully off a 100amp won't fit on a 60amp alt ( 100amp has bigger shaft ). now the single 30amp generator pully will fit on a 60amp alt. I had a 100amp setup on my first engine so instead of changing out all the pullys I bought a 60amp alt that had a 3 groove pully but it only matched up to 2 of the 3 grooves on the engine pullies so I only ran 2 belts which you can barly see in the picture ( click below )
