Thats really cool a Fiat and an M. wow almost 2 extremes!! I have a good buddy that is really into the Fiats. cool cars they are.
My favorite car to hate is the POS Prius UGH and not as green as its touted to be with that huge chem drenched battery in it.
Audi is much better with a green turbo diesel and it gets better mileage to boot.
This utube sums it up pretty well
WHAT A WASTE OF AMMO... LOL I WONDER HOW MUCH POLUTION WILL THE HEAVY METALS ON THE BATTERIES OF THE "GREEN" PRIUS WILL DO TO THE ENVIRONMENT WHEN THE CAR WILL BE TOSSED AT THE END OF ITS LIFE. SOMETHING NOT MANY PEOPLE HAVE WONDERED I GUESS.

I think it is very interesting that folks like us can enjoy driving two very different vehicles. I have always like the feel and sound of driving jeeps, M37's and I still have a special love for the Fiat 124 Spider I sold a while back. And we are over 40 years apart!
WOW!!! I NEVER KNEW ANYONE ELSE THAT HAD A FIAT SPORT SPIDER OTHER THAN ME I HAD A 1976, WHICH WAS GIVEN TO ME FOR FREE BACK IN 95. I WAS IN COLLEGE THEN AND I COULD BEARLY AFFORD BEER, NEVER MIND A CAR. LOL. SO I FIGURED I SHOULD FIX EVERYTHING THAT BROKE MY SELF. THAT WAS MY BEGINING WITH WRENCHING AND AUTO MAINTENANCE. I ENDED UP SELING IT FOR 125 DOLLARS TO A FRIEND WHO I HEARD THAT HE STILL HAS IT!!!! HOWEVER I DID NOT GET IN TOUCH WITH HIM YET, AS I HAVE LOST HIS TRACKS AFTER ALL THESE YEARS. YES, TODAYS, PICKUP TRUCKS HAVE CHARACTER. YES, SPORTS CARS ALSO HAVE GAINED CHARACTER IN THE PAST FEW YEARS. PASSENGER CARS HOWEVER, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE CHARGER, I BELIEVE THEY ALL LOOK ALIKE. ANYHOW, WHEN IT PERTAINS TO ME, I HAVE MY DREAM TRUCK (THE M OFCOURSE) AND RECENTLY I BECAME THE OWNER OF THE NIKE THAT I HAVE BEEN CRAVING OVER FOR 19 YEARS. A HARLEY FAT BOY. I JUST GOT IN THE HOUSE FROM THE GARAGE WHERE I WAS RIDING AN IMAGINARY TRIP, (IT IS SNOWING OUT LOL) I WILL POST A PICTURE OR TWO WHEN THE WEATHER PERMITS TO TAKE A PICTURE FIRST. THANK YOU ALL .

I read a few years ago, thats it actually more environmentaly friendly to drive a fullsize H1 Hummer than a prius.
Very few greenies take into consideration what a vehicle goes through to get to the general public - they simply see what is in front of them and make asumptions based on that.
The sheeple who follow them are no different. They are usually swayed by the loudest voice, regardless of the facts.

Where in Greece do you live?
I am going to Crete and a few undetermined Isles next spring.
Beautiful country you have!
Tim
HELLO TIM, I AM FROM THE NORTHWEST PART OF GREECE CALLED "EPIRUS." MY BROTHER IN LAW IS FROM CRETE. I AM GLAD YOU LIKE GREECE. BOTH THE LAND AND THE PEOPLE ARE GREAT IN MY OPINION, BUT OUR CONCECUTIVE GOVERNMENTS HAVE RUINED EVERYTHING FOR ALL. ANYHOW. I HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT TIME IN YOUR TRIP. IDK IF YOU HAVE BEEN THERE AGAIN, BUT IF YOU HAVE NOT, IT IS INTERESTING TO VISIT THE ANCIENT RUINS OF KNOSOS, AS WELL AS THE WWII ALLIED AND AXIS CEMETARIES IN "HERAKLION" AND "MALEME". I WISH YOU HAVE A GREAT TIME. (OH, AND GET READDY TO ADD A FEW POUNDS FROM DRINKING AND EATING. PACK COMFORTABLE CLOTHES WITH YOU )

I READ AN ARTICLE ABOUT JAY LENO DRIVING TO HIS WORK IN A MODEL T PICKUP. HIS WORDS WERE "THIS IS THE GREENEST AND MOST ENVIRONMENTALLY VEHICLE EVER. IT HAS BEEN WORKING FOR 80 YEARS, WITHOUT MUCH OF MAINTENANCE AND WITHOUT PILES OF PARTS NEEDED EVERY OTHER WEEK. PLUS IT WILL KEEP ON RUNNING FOR THE YEARS TO COME" I SEE TOO MUCH TRUTH IN HIS WORDS. IF YOU CONSIDER THAT OUR M 37 MADE IT THROUGH HALF OF THE CENTURY WITH THE TECHNOLOGY OF THE 30'S AND THE MAINTENANCE THAT THEY GET FROM PEOPLE LIKE US (I AM NOT A MECHANIC), IMAGINE WHAT MARVELS TODAY'S TECHNOLOGY COULD PRODUCE. YET MANUFACTURERS PRODUCE CRAPPY VEHICLES THAT BREAK DOWN ALL THE TIME SO THEY CAN GET JOB SECURITY THROUGH MAINTENANCE AND PARTS SALES. AND SUPPOSEDLY ITS FOR THE ENVIRONMENT. SO SAD...

Its all about job security for sure. Cars that last aren't conducive to a company remaining in business. So, they build vehicles that only last 5 years because they realize you will be back to buy another......... Only thing they didn't consider is those owners who do preventive maintenance are still getting 10 years out of them.
I'm 70 and just getting started on refurb of a 52 M-37. I do enjoy my rides. Currently a 03 Porsche Targa and a 07 Explorer Sporttrak. This is my 5th Expplorer. My first one was a 91. Put 260,000 miles on it, one transmission rebuild , 2 set of front rotors, 3 sets of tires. I've had good luck with all of them.
Favorites;
1940 Ford Sedan (wish I still had it) Paid $75.00
1963 Studebaker Avanti (bought in 73 with 21,000 mi) Drove it 3 years, total of 60,000 mi and sold it for what I paid for it. Cheapest car I ever owned.
Would still like to have Mustang V-8, maybe 2011, hell of a car
