Did the factory paint the lines or were the left just metal?

I'm painting mine chassis black, like my frame. Can't hurt to have some rust protection on them if your not going for 100% historically accurate. Mine were all OD along with everything else by the time I got it.

They were not painted at the factory. The frames had long since left the paint booth by the time the brake and fuel lines went on.
