Dumb question # 3428.
The gap between hood and side panel is much wider at the rear of the hood than at the front.
Is this normal or adjustable? If there is a procedure for adjusting, would appreciate someone posting a link to it.
Hood to side panel gap?

Hi Mark, not a dumb question-no such thing.
Uneven gap? Something sounds amiss. The bottom of the hood seam should run evenly parallel with the top edge of the side panel. If you loosen the side panel bolts there is a little bit of "adjustability" up and down and front to back, but there shouldn't be a huge gap. There also should be fender welting on the bottom edge of the side panel. Just how much do you guesstimate the gap is?

Most likely the radiator frame is mounted too low or the triangular pieces that bolt to it are too low. Radiator frame is usually spaced upward with flat washers where it sits on the cross member bracket. Look at all this, a little tweaking will likely cure the problem. You might also check to see if the rubber bumpers are missing at the front of the hood, and the panel that covers the front of the radiators top tank that the bumpers rest on.
