Hello.
I have been busy rewiring my truck and would like to know if their is anyway to get inside the M Series '3 way' switch to work on it.
I tend to think parts of it are faulty going by some simple resistance tests.
Were these things made to simply throw away?
If their is no way of workin on them does anyone have a good WORKING swtich they'd care to part with????
Your throughts would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Newer ones ar throw aways
Most new ones are not designed to be disassembled. Some older ones can be taken apart but you would have a hell of a time finding parts. (Government bought replacements, didn't try to repairr them so there were no big inventories of spare parts.
Also from a post I recall from Big Electric there are a lot of springs inside that will propel various tiny parts to all corners of your workshop. It was suggested you try to slide a piece of thin stiff plastic between the sections as you open it...but it didn't sound like anyone had actually tried it

Military Light Switch
Check ebay .. one sold in last few days for $5.00 + shipping. I've seen several for about $20.00 + shipping the last few weeks. It's not worth trying to fix it --- springs and copper connectors look like a fireworks display when opened, they shoot all over the surrounding area with various pings, dings, and other sharp noises ..... at least that's what I've HEARD ---
Trust me .... ebay is cheap to keep your sanity.
Good Luck

The first series of the push button style was nothing but trouble, later ones are better, but still more trouble prone than the 3 lever type. If I was planning on a push button type, I'd have to have proof it wasn't the early series before purchasing.ChrisG wrote:Okay thanks erveyone for input. I guess I will just purchase a replacement.
Just curious and I realise they may not be original but has anyone installed one of the newer 'push button' M - series light switches? I would like to see a photo if anyone has one installed....
