12 volt starter... where to get one???

Post by Tim7750 »

I have a M43 converted to 12 volt and I need a 12 volt starter. Can any one tell me what other vehicle application might work or part #. The guys at NAPA can not help. The 24 volt starter just won't turn the engine over fast enough to get it going. Thanks. Tim

Hi Tim,
I should have a 12 volt starter here. It will be a used take out from a Dadge power Wagon. It will be a solenoid start (key). Or, if you want to stick with a foot pedal, I have some 6 volt ones that you could use. 6 volt starters will spin over real nice with 12 volts, just have to use some common sense and dont spin it for real long periods.
Email me if you are interested.
Thanks,
Tim
