seat options?

Post by m37_power »

my seats are completely shot to put it politely on my M. What do you guys do that have restored or reconditioned for your seats? I have a local place that can recover them and put new foam in. Is there any place i can pick up a set of springs for them? Just curious.

Used my old springs with new padding and marine grade matrial on passenger side so it all can be washed up with a hose, driver side same matrial but no springs just extra thick foam  8)

I just used thick foam on my seats also when i rebuilt them, I think if my memory serves me right that the foam was 4 inches thick that i got from a furniture restoration shop.

I went the foam route, with new covers with eyelets as well from Beechwood Canvas. I cut the seat boards from 1/2 inch plywood and weaved them on with hemp rope.

I know of no supplier for the seat springs, however, I have an old M37 driver's seat back spring cage that might interest you. It needs blasting but appears to be intact, if you or anyone else here is interested....

Not to jump on the foam wagon (but it's so soft :) ) but, when I restored my WC51, I used all Beachwood canvas including the seats which had a high dencity foam in them.
