antenna mount

Yes a truck could be equipped with as many as 4 radio sets, so there could be up to 4 ant on a single truck.(A radio shelter was used for anything more) As previously mentioned there are 4 knockouts on the bed sides for the ant. cable, none were provided for the ant. mount however. The 4 holes are at each corner of the bed as the ant. had to be as far from each other as possible for proper operation. The m-37 used a special radio power cable that went from the battery to the removable plate in the front bed panel near the center, early prod. trucks came w/ the cable from the factory. Also a truck with that much radio equip. would have required the 100 amp charging system to be installed. My truck (a m-715) is equipped with a VRQ-3 radio system which is 2 RT/ series radios w/ a C-435/GRC retransmitter control which requires 2 antennas. the placement of the ant is directed in the installation manuals, usually there is a desired placement an an opt placement depending on if other equip was already installed in the primary spot. Radio installation kits were produced which had all the special parts need to install a radio set in a paticular truck, they can be very hard to come by now days.
Hello,
Long time lurker, infrequent poster here.
The truck that I own is set up as a working radio comms truck.
It has an RT524 (reciever/transmitter) and a R442 auxillary reciever.
The photo is from the previous owner...
