On the scrounge......

Post by Monkey Man »

I am looking for a couple of bits, firstly I need the 2 swivel Windscreen locking handles and little right angle brackets they secure against plus has anyone out there got a metric M type speedo going spare. Big asks I know but I had better make an effort to get this truck completed in the next 12 months as it just has to be done as I have put the work off for too long. Pm or reply to this if possible as my e-mail has gone flakey the last few days.

Regards - MM :-)

Are you looking for the complete scizzor/locking arms or the handles that lock the screens closed? :?:

Just the handles and catches Bruce and Ed has me fixed up on that item thanks.
The metric speedo is something I have been wanting for a while but on E-bay they are as dear as poison plus only shipped to the US so I thought I would ask the question on here to take a long shot as to wether anyone had one or not, you just never know.....
Take Care

Not to say they don't exist, MM, but I've never seen an M37 speedo calibrated in "clicks" per hour.

BTW...when did Australia switch to the metric system for highway travel? The US tried to do it back in the late '70s/early '80s. Highway signs were posted showing the distance to the next town in both miles and "clicks." We are an unruly, savage lot, however, and resisted the change so stoutly that the gummint gave up on the idea. As it is now, the only people in the US who understand the metric system are ex-military types who served overseas, doctors, pharmacists, and drug dealers...especially the drug dealers!

I am not sure Chuck, I think it was the late 60's or early 70's but seing as I am a 68' model and can never remember anything but metric so I guess late 60's would be the better bet.
I have seen the metric speedo's occasionally on Evil-Bay and I missed one recently that went for $60 USD and was shipable to Australia but alas I found it too late. They aren't listed as a specific M37 item, just the usual interchangable item listed for M37, M43, Mxx etc, etc. so I will just have to keep hunting I think, I'll just have to be patient.....
Reminds me of a little scroll Mum used to have on the fridge at home - "Lord, Please grant me patience..... And I Want It Now!!"
