Front windshield glass moldings

What direction does the fold out window frame 3 sided molding install? Flat face side towards the inside or the bevel face?
Also, my moldings appear to be about an 1.000" taller than the frame. Is the excess trimmed or left on?

bevel side towards windshield frame - flat side out.

Thanks N1VSM. I kinda thought thats how they would work but then I started to over think the situation

Knattrass, I am installing new ones. My old ones were completely rotted off.

Well it seems just the one molding was taller? The other fit fine. Trimmed it a bit and it is ok
