Im still working on restoring my truck so i have yet to drive my truck in low range. I plan on taking it offroad as well as cruise around town. My question is how low is 1st gear in low range? My truck is all stock. Im running 38.5 x 11 TSL's on it as well. Im worried it might not be low enough for crawling, very slow offroad, but im not sure. Any info is greatly appreciate it.
I believe that first gear, low range tops out at 5mph. You'll be getting your maximum torque quickly that way.

I know it ain't much for getting moving in a hurry that's for sure. I don't even use 1st gear for normal round town driving unless I have to stop on a steep uphill slope such as at a redlight, stop sign, etc.
I don't know squat about off-roading, but it sure works nice for parades. It'll idle along at walking speed. If you do a long parade route, though, its a good idea to keep a foot ready for the clutch in case of darting spectators and to keep a close eye on the temp guage.
I just rebuilt my transfer case in my Jeep changing from a
2.7X to a 4:1 for rock crawling with the Diffs changed to 4.5X: 1 and the M37 in its natural state is even lower geared than the modifiesd Jeep.
