I went through this battery drill last year, and one dying battery ended up being the problem, syphoning current off the good battery, causing the symptoms of "two dying batteries", but that wasn't the case. Once I had both tested and the dying battery identified, replacing it and installing a battery isolator switch solved the discharge problem. I know, should have replaced both, but my budget didn't allow for it.

It was a drizzly weekend here in CA so a test drive was out of the question, so I plugged the external heater hole in the driver's side panel with the MIG.
