My M43 was converted quit some time ago to a 12v system. I want to replace it, but none of the parts stores have a clue including NAPA. Can someone tell me a part number or an interchange distributor to use? I know a dist. from an eqivalant motor will work (i.e.- 218 or 225) but I still need to know what vehicle these came in because otherwise none of these keyboard jockeys at the parts stores will be of any use. Thanks for any help.

From what you say, I'm suspecting that you want to convert your ignition system back to 24-volts. Although almost any 6-cyl MOPAR dist will work, if you want to keep the waterproof ignition setup, you'll have to stay with a military distributor.
As far as voltage is concerned, the distributor won't give a rat's behind what voltage you shove through it. It's nothing more than a mechanically operated rotary switch that "turns sparkplugs on and off" in a preselected sequence. The electronics (coil and condenser) will probably be affected by applied voltage, but the mechanical parts won't care.

Under part 17 ( I think) it will list a boat load of distributors.
Just ask for a Power Wagon with a similar year and a 230
that should do you. I think that there are a boat load that will fit though.

distributor
I have already researched the dodge power wagon parts list and have already been to NAPA. The picture they show for part #483610 has a gear drive for the oil pump; mine does not have a gear. I also checked Autozone for #30-3610 and they say there is no such number.
All the numbers that I see in the PIF start with three letters IAY etc
I found a couple on ebay.
these also look like possibles:

Can you locate a Hollander Interchange manual? I recall they had every conceivable parts swap imaginable. I run a 12v distributor too and have no idea what year/make/model it's out of. You might also give VPW a call-they have quite a bit of distributor knowledge and might have your answer-ask for Steve or Jens (pronounced "Yens").
