Re: Cheap surplus side mirrors
OK, went and did a little work on the truck. Took off the old civvy rusty chrome mirrors.. http://enfielditis.net/m37/badchrome.jpg held up one of the new mirrors, and "crap" the bracket is too long! http://enfielditis.net/m37/20141009_212030.jpg http://enfielditis.net/m37/20141009_212100....

Re: Bumper Star
While working on my truck tonight I took some pictures of the bumper star on my W/W truck. Still has original paint that it left service in, although faded. Here is a pic of the bumper: http://enfielditis.net/m37/20141009_204804.jpg As you can see there is one star next to the winch on the drivers' ...

Re: Cheap surplus side mirrors
The mirrors arrived today, a day ahead of schedule. Darn things are MUCH better than what you see in the pics! Brand new, still had that protective plastic cover on the glass. Painted desert sand, easy enough to fix with a rattle can. I think the design fits the vintage look of the M37 much better t...

I'd just settle for a promotion.Juan wrote:Where's the like button in this forum?
Promotions around here are just about as slow as real life in the Army back in the 1980's.

Cheap surplus side mirrors
Sportsman's Guide has milsurp side mirrors for the Coyote for sale rather inexpensively. Look good and similar to the side Hummvee mirrors previously discussed. Should look good on my M37. Here is the link, i ordered 2. 24.99 each. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/new-us-military-surplus...

Re: RMS Save This One
I saw those for sale over in Spokane. Problem is it's a 12 hour round trip there and back, plus time spent hagglin over the fenders. Mine are rust free, I may just pull them and see how much a body shop will charge to beat them out. I have tried bodywork before when I had a Triumph Spitfire addictio...

Re: RMS Save This One
I saw that one pop back up on Craigslist, it's the one that was up on the Sunshine Coast, correct?
Robin, do you or anyone else in the lower mainland have a couple of ice straight fenders for sale? Both of mine are banged up and dented.

Hi Joose! I'm another PNWester. Live in Blaine, right on the border. You wouldn't happen to live on Fraser Highway just north of Cloverdale? I met some friends of RMS there once when I dropped by, wondering if it might be you. Got my M37 a little over a year ago, but illness and family needs have st...

Yes they were, but could bite you in the butt if you were not careful. First started driving MUTTs in 1980. Wasn't too long before they were gone.RMS wrote:the mutt looks like funsuperbee70 wrote:

Re: proud m37 owner
I am going to be stenciling up my M37 as a Vietnam era 9th Inf Div truck. I served with the 9th from 1985 to 1987. I have my M1009 stenciled with the unit and bumper number of my vehicle while I was with the 1st Inf Div (FWD) in Germany and Iraq, MI-212. That, however was an M-577 and not a M1009.

Re: need correct paint color for 1954 m37
My 53 has the original semi gloss green on the interior of the cab, a faded brownish green on the exterior, and the entire engine compartment including wiring has been painted a pale OD green, musta been an IG Inspection pending when the engine compartment got painted. Gotta make it look good.
