Re: Aren't all 9.00 x 16 NDTs the Same ???

Hi Bob,
I may be wrong, but I bet if you mounted the 4 Denmans (Denmen pl?) and aired them up the differences would even out. Even if they didnt, I doubt you would notice once they were mounted. Thats why vehicles have a suspension system!

That poor truck. I bet it is embarrassed to be seen that way. Someone needs to put it out of its misery!

Re: Green Mountain Military Vehicle Show

Hi Jeff,
I am an outsider, not familiar with the Hoagie Hut, but it sounds good! I havent gotten the M out yet, hoping for a good rain to wash the salt off the roads. Should happen in the next couple of days.
Is George back up here yet?
Thanks,
Tim

Re: Reverse gear light/mode switch

If I remember correctly, the later Power Wagons (1965 -68 or so) had backup lights. I believe the later NP420 tranny top would interchange with the later style M37 tranny, and if you had one from the later Power Wagon, it would have the backup light switch all set up.

Re: M37 Overdrive

I installed a Dennan Overdrive on my Power Wagon. I dont see why it wouldnt work on the M37. It requires shortening the rear driveshaft, and it mounts directly behind the transfer case. It is only good in 2 wheel drive but you wouldnt need it in 4 wheel drive anyway. I have done plenty of offroading...

Re: Low compression

Jim, I usually go after them with a thin putty knife, a flat bladed screwdriver, small toothbrush style wire brushes and paint thinner. If you are taking it to a machine shop, just scrape off the big chunks and let them deal with it. Otherwise, its just a tedious job of scraping, brushing, wiping wi...

Re: looking to buy a 1960 M37

Jag, The thing about the speed, or lack of it, is mostly a mindset thing. If you want to go fast, this is probably not the right truck for you. If you can wrap your head around taking it easy, and letting the trip to your destination be as much fun as the destination, then you will love it. I have a...

Re: M101 trailer tail gate buttons and reflector "L"'s

I have an M101a1 that has those plugs as well. There is a data plate that explains that the trailer has been rustproofed. These plugs seem to be where they sprayed in the rustproofing. Try a local rustproofer and see if they have any.

Re: I Think My Cock is Missing!! Yikes!!!

I believe the illustrated valve is the tank drain valve. The early trucks had them, they are located at the lower rear edge. They require a wrench to open and they dont drain fast. There is also a drain plug in the bottom.
