Re: hi all. new kid here. M43B1 owner
came sooo close to getting a unimog or pinzgauer instead of my wagon. I am glad i went with a van instead of a truck in any case. For me It is much more useful. And i am REALLY glad i got one that had been modified. Parts are cheap compared to the originals 3x the horsepower doesnt hurt either With ...

Locking hubs
never thought of it like this but
The locking hub acts as a sort of a fuse
It fails instead of much more expensive and complicated to repair parts inside the axle etc.
Is that true?

Re: hi all. new kid here. M43B1 owner
I have a 2bbl no name carb on the 318la almost 8000lbs ambulance. I think it is 500cfm And going up grades it just doesn't seem to have enough oomph to even keep it at 45mph (Which with the gearing is approaching max speed) Since i have no money or skill for cams, headers blabla Would a pertronix and...

Re: Playing with your M37 during the winter months
Coming back from shooting a hear a loud noise.
Pull over and look at everything under the truck.
Hmm looks ok
Drive some more
BOOM!!!!
Pull over and find that the parking brake band came loose and whacked the underside of the ambulance.
Zip tied it out of the way and came home

Re: 40000 BTU heater
I used one of the old toggle switches that was already in the dash and didn't bother labeling anything.

Re: Most Practical Modification Thread
I am seriously considering thoroughly cleaning the underside and everything else i can find.
All the hidden channels etc.
And slathering everything with cosmoline.
I dont have rust
And plan on keeping it that way
BTW
I dont even use bedliner to line beds.
Hate the stuff
