Re: Had to call the tow truck today...
I TOO HAD A SIMNILAR PROBLEM WHEN I FIRST GOT MY TRUCK. IT WAS A RUBBER FUEL LINE, JUST BEFORE THE PUMP THAT HAD AN INTERNAL COLLAPSED, ALCOHOL IN THE MODERN FUEL CAUSES ALL SORTS OF PROBLEMS WITH THE OLD RUBBER. Maybe just to be sure, I'll replace that rubber hose with a steel fuel line or new rub...

Re: Had to call the tow truck today...
Good News! :D So last night, I pulled the lid off the top of the tank...I was pleased to find that the inside of the tank is bright, clean and shiny! There was, however, some grit and cedar leaves (??) floatin around in there...along with bits of the original cork gasket from the lid. To my surprise...

Re: Had to call the tow truck today...
Hey Nick...
I will pull the sending unit and check that..thanks! I am pretty sure that the tank was boiled and coated already, so I don't think it's full of rust.

Had to call the tow truck today...
Hey Gang.... SO I have been working steadily on the M37 for a while, and have been out for a few jaunts with it. Today, I decided to run it into town. As I got to the highway (about 6km from home) she started to sputter and stall out...as if out of gas. She quit, and I coasted safely to the soft sho...

Re: Rear axle oil seal...
Hey Charles... Not to worry about bearing bad news...better to know, and we all appreciate your taking the time to educate us! Now do those Buna-N seals that you used have the metal disc (as shown in the above diagram) or is it just the oil seal? I ask because the left and right are different on my ...

Re: Rear axle oil seal...
Arg! Where were you yesterday? Just kidding...I just got the assembly put back together. I used some Permatex Ultra Black gasket maker to make a new seal inside the seal housing (part U), then I used the two gaskets on either side of the housing with more Permatex on both sides. I'd be surprised if ...

Re: Rear axle oil seal...
Hey Guys... I managed to find another SKF 20538 at NAPA (the same one that fit PERFECTLY on the side I already fixed...). I pulled the driver's side apart last night...what a surprise...it had a different size oil seal! Arg! Don't know if it's from a different model year, or civilian truck or what. ...

Hey Charles...
Is it the oil seal that fits into the metal ring? If so, how much shipped to N3Y4J9?
Thanks!
Ty

Re: Locking hubs on M37?
+1 here...I have the SuperWinch 400508 on my 54 M37. Easy to install, and the switch glides smoothly into and out of engagement. I have heard that they are getting hard to find, however. The box that mine came in says W300 Power Wagon . And for those who don't have locking hubs....GET THEM! In my ca...

Rear axle oil seal...
Hey Gang... ANyone know where I can get a rear axle hub seal for my Canadian 54 M37? I managed to find one for the passenger side....got it all done, and the leak stopped, and now the driver's side is leaking. Hate to get gear oil all over my brand new tires and freshly painted wheels. The SKF brand...

Oil pan gasket?
Hey Gang... My M37 is "oozing power" as one member put it, and I'd like to remedy that. I think that the oil pan is leaking at the rear of the pan. So I'd like to dump the oil, drop the pan, goop RTV gasket maker on, and put on a new gasket. Anyone know where I can get a new oil pan gasket...
