Re: Painting rims
I sand blasted mine and painted them and they were fine. However, when you finish sandblasting look at how much pitting is in the lock ring groove and check the rim for out of roundness from being beat on when the tire was removed. I had to reject about 3 out of every 5 rims for these reasons.

I will like drop off the forum for a while. This means if you write or are interested in my parts please don't expect an answer. Doctors say...

Re: 2 truck same problem
Is your gas cap vent open? If it is closed I think it can cause this problem.

Re: M37 in Charlotte
Hey buy it and have them deliver it to me south of Waxhaw. I can store it outside until you get here if it is only a month or so. Don't let it go to the scrapper

Re: Two carseat install in M-37???
I put 2 bucket seats in mine and there was enough space between them to put in another car seat. Only problem is it sat lower than the other car seat on the bucket seat.

Re: 6,12,24v coil issue
Ah HA Charles, you just identified another reason to convert (you know half my battle is figuring out the right questions to ask to get ALL the information - LOL). So anybody that has an M37 that sits in high humidity (NC for me) more than it runs this would be worth it when you want to start it up ...

Re: 6,12,24v coil issue
I think I understand what Charles is saying. Best is a totally rebuilt unit with electronic ignition But how does that solve the coil problem. It sounded like you still have to use the original type coil and if most of the current manuafatured coils out there are of poor quality aren't you still at ...

Re: 6,12,24v coil issue
Charles now you have me curious or maybe I am just misunderstanding something. Are you saying the 12V electronic ignition is not as reliable as the 24V electronic ignition? If yes then what makes the difference from a technical perspective? Another question, is the 12V electronic ignition more relia...

Re: Passenger Side Rear View Mirror.....How ?
You have to position it correctly or the door or window hits it when it is opened. Adjust it to far forward and the Jerry can hits it.

Looking for Budd Centers
I am looking for 3 or more Budd Centers from wheels where the rims are to far rusted or bent to be any good. The centers need to be straight and the lugs holes good. Anybody got some they want to sell cheap or trade for stuff I have?

Re: humvee wheel questions
I didn't answer your original question if this would work on 16.5 wheels. I don't think so as they turn down the centers and cut it about center line on the rivet holes of the Budd center. So I think going to a 16.5 rim would require a small spacer ring to fill the gap. That would be the weak point ...

Re: humvee wheel questions
Harlie at Stockton Wheel has found a low center drop 16" wheel that just barely fits. I think it is a 16 X 8. I believe the original Budds were 16 X 6.5. In order to clear the drum or disk brake setup he has to increase the offset a small amount. With 11 X 16 Michelin XZLs the flat side of the ...

Looking for original Budd centers
I am looking for three original Budd centers that are undamaged. Usually 3 or 4 out of every 5 original Budd rims have had the tires on so long that the lock ring lip is to corroded to be safe or someone has bent the outer rim by hammering to get the tire free. Those rims should not be used and the ...
