Re: hi all. new kid here. M43B1 owner
Welcome to the forum, and welcome to the ambulance community! Be ready to play the role of historic interpreter. Of my three vehicles, I get approached and questioned more while driving the ambulance. Though it is an M725, I would love to have an M43 to complete my collection. You will be glad you h...

Re: Veterans Day Parade gun truck
Dana, There won't be any problems. The police chief knows me and my military vehicle collections. I did give our downtown police officer a reminder that my truck had sprouted armament. They all think it looks cool. I think Jay's observations is correct. Many people, when talking to me about my vehic...

Veterans Day Parade gun truck
http://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w400/Charlie_McEwuen/043_zpsb2xwdudj.jpg The folks around town see my truck quite often for one event or another, as well as driving it on a regular basis. I wanted to do something a little different for the Veterans Day Parade. I decided to configure my 65 as a ...

Murf,
We would be happy to have you. It is always a great time and I always learn some new maintenance or mechanical tip as well. We actually get to drive our trucks and give them a workout.

Mid Atlantic Power Wagon Rally
I joined a bunch of guys for our annual Power Wagon Rally. Tim and I represented the M37 part of the family of Dodge trucks. We started in Morgantown and headed to the southeastern part of West Virginia to visit several state parks and scenic areas. I put over 400 miles on my truck with not a single...

Thanks, Bob. I don't think I have ever received that compliment with my truck before!

What interesting thing have you done with your M37?
I helped an employee move her stuff from one apartment to another. We got some looks! A rather unlikely form of transportation for fashion mannequins.

Re: NDT lifespan?
I went with super lugs also. I drive my truck a lot and seem to only get about 5000 miles at best out of NDT's. I keep NDT's on my other military vehicles that I don't drive as much because they just have that "look".

Re: Do B1's Rust More than Earlier Trucks?
I have always been amazed at how LITTLE rust was on my 65 B1 despite the fact that it looked like it led a really rough life after being released from service. I just posted over on the general forum that I recently replaced all of the original brake lines and hoses. Maybe the newer trucks, by the v...

Give me a break! or is that some brakes.
I just finished up a job I have been putting off for some time. I replaced all the steel brake and hose lines on my 65 M37. Anyone that has had that feeling of panic when you push on the brake pedal and it just goes to the floor can relate. It had not happened to me in this vehicle, but some long ov...

Re: New Modification: Rear Work Lights
Those lights look great. I think I saw the rear strap on one of your previous posts. That is absolutely one of the best ideas ever! It makes leaning over the tailgate to grab something in the bed so much easier! I modified your design a little. I took half the straps under the pintel and half over a...

Those were the days! Now that I have one I want more!I think four would be a good number of machine guns. I guess it is no different than all the other accessories we all like to add. The more the better.

Re: M37 stands in for limousine
Yes, I am a lucky man. This was THE EVENT of the year for this area. Everyone who is anyone was there and I escorted a VP from a local bank. I felt quite good as she told others of the local jet set ( with what sounded like pride in her voice) the vehicle she arrived in. Maybe the cocktails were beg...
