Re: Door Stop Straps VS Metal Limiters

Thanks for the reply guys.

Brett...........I think you're right. When I looked real carefully at the pics of the truck I'm buying I can see there is an arm mounting tab behind the canvas strap in one of the pics. So these straps were probably quick repairs, as you stated.

thanks,

Re: Newbie Dumb Question #1 - Paint

Thanks for the responses guys. If I'm hearing everyone correctly, the day the truck rolled off the assembly line at the Dodge factory the frame, differentials and radiator would have been semi flat black (chassis black), the engine a silver/grey color, and the body "green". I assume that i...

Can Frosted Glass Be Fixed??

Hi Guys,

The two pieces of windshield glass are "frosted" along the bottom edge. I assume that's because the glass was laminated? and moisture got in between the layers? Is there any way to fix that without replacing the glass?

thanks,
bob

Door Stop Straps VS Metal Limiters

Hi Guys, Looking at lots of pics of M37s I see most don't use the canvas door straps to limit door travel (so they don't hit the fenders when swung open). I have found a few trucks that have the straps, but not many. Seems most use a metal arm in the door that attaches to the cab frame to limit door...

SNs and Registry Question

Hi Guys, While looking thru the registy for SNs close to mine I noticed that some don't seem to be in the right year, if they are supposed to be sequential. Why is that? Are people getting the year wrong or did Dodge just use SNs out of sequence? That doesn't make much sense......but I guess it's po...

How Long Do Soft Tops Last?

Hi Guys, My project M37 is topless and I expect it will take about 2 years to fully restore. So I'm debating if I should buy a new canvas top for $375 now or make a makeshift top out of a tarp. Will a new canvas top still look good in 2 years? It will be parked outside and exposed to typical Marylan...

Newbie Dumb Question #1 - Paint

Hi Guys, Ok.....I've read thru many of the posts here and on other military sites and I realize asking paint questions, especially "what color should my vehicle be" can get really ugly and lead to bad things. So I won't go there. But assuming I have chosen a paint color (let's call it &quo...

NEWBIE onboard!

Hi Guys, Great site! I'm picking up my first military vehicle this weekend, a '52 M37. Looking forward to restoring that puppy. I've been cruising around this site for the past week or so and it looks outstanding. Lots of great info, friendly people, and a common goal to keep these vehicles on the r...
