Re: New member, soon-to-be-owner...

Welcome! You've opened a can of worms here, "no drive train or rims". Do you plan to restore it back to original, or go in another direction? We'll need more information!

Re: Ins & Outs of Transfer Case Rebuilds

I think Chris Case over on the Power Wagon forum was making them out of new materials? You might check there. Here is a link to his photo album showing a set he made out of blue urethane... http://imageevent.com/bigchriscase/bodymountsurethane http://photos.imageevent.com/bigchriscase/bodymountsuret...

Re: What would cause a M37 to sputter while running?

My civilian 230 motor did the same thing initially. Not rebuilt like yours though, it did sit for 20 years. I did rebuild the carb. It has gotten better over time by running it. Not sure if yours might do the same after running it for a while? At this point I'm not worried about it. :D

Re: Anyone put a camper on an M37?

Thanks for the update and response to the suggestions! Yeah, that spare tire/wheel combo is heavy and that is with the stock 9.00x16 tire. It's really heavy with an 11.00x16 or other larger diameter tire. Mounting on the door would be the simplest way to go. Putting it on the passenger door would be...

Re: Anyone put a camper on an M37?

Looks great! Maybe put the spare on the back? It definitely wouldn't look as cool, but you wouldn't have to have a cutout for it and it might be easier to get to. Might have to off set the door a bit though? Just thinking out loud... Another thought is to mount the spare on the hood a la land rover,...

Re: Anyone put a camper on an M37?

Well I certainly can't find a picture of any online. I took a tape measure and did some napkin math. It looks feasible. Used the numbers and made a quick 3D model. I think it might be a fun project. I'm figuring about 6'4" headroom cab over box. I think I'd have to have the tailgate open and s...
