Re: 6.2L Diesel

Doesn't look the bad to fab up. Now I just need to find a flywheel and clutch to get my price tally for this conversion.

Re: 6.2L Diesel

Thanks for the info and link! Question though, which axles did you swap in and how did you over come the narrowness of the front frame?

I'm looking at spending the money for CUCV 1-ton axles versus the myriad of little nickel dime things the stock ones are going to throw at me.

Re: What modern engines would you choose?

From the price point, and if it fits, the CUCV 6.2 looks like a good option, especially if you run 4.88s

6.2L Diesel

In keeping with me never doing anything the easy way, though possibly cheaper way, would one of the CUCV 6.2s fit in the engine bay?

I like the idea of this because I know where I can get a pulled one at in PA for the ballpark of $800 for the complete engine and harness.

Anyone done this one?

Really, Kerosene is the main ingredient in Stabil? Interesting

Re: What modern engines would you choose?

Yeah, I've been thinking of a Ford 300, and backing it with a 465/205 combo and running it to a dana 60 in the rear and 44F.

Diesel would be nice, but I don't have the money for that currently.

Re: Tyres Problem Resolved...

That's probably close to what I paid for my Super swampers including the tubes and flaps.

Similar boat here, want to re-axle and run hummer rims, but I might have to get some servicable steel 16s till the swampers run their life.

Re: Source for New Transfer Case Seals

Wouldn't the higher temp seals help with the over heating issues the NP200 has?

Re: a question of differentials

Do you know the model number I need to look for, for ones that work with these now oddball axles?
