Re: Building a retro M37

The gauge cluster looks pretty bright in the video, but in real time it is not so blinding. If i see it is too bright at night I do have a dash dimmer to install into the system. wiring is almost done, just have the signal switch to do and the horn relay. I didn't realize that doing a wiring harnes...

Re: Fans

Advantage is a lot more air flow to keep your radiator and engine cooler
Disadvantage is it uses a little more horse power.

Worth it in my opinion!

Re: fuel pump

Hey VT

I went the electric pump route also and can honestly say it is NOT a difficult modification to make.
If you would like me to take any photos of my setup or anything else that can help, just shout.

Re: New Wire

Personally, if it was me, I would only wire up what is required for the ignition and engine to run first.
That way you wont have any other possible electrical problems to contend with.
Once you have solved the ignition problem you can go ahead and wire everything else up.

Re: 24v fuel pump

Hi Vinnytruck When I bought my '52 truck it came with an electric pump in the engine bay. This wasnt ideal as it often resulted in vapor lock problems and I wasnt too keen on the potential for fuel pump leaking and spraying everywhere over a hot engine/manifold!!. So I decided to go with a 24v versi...

Re: Interchangeability of Douglas and Packard connectors?

Or get hold of the proper crimping tool and make up your own Douglas connectors. I bought my parts from Joe at Vintage Wiring of Maine: - single Douglas shell only, male or female $1.50 each plus shipping - double Douglas shell only, male or female $3.50 each plus shipping - metal bushings $0.40 eac...

Are you guys rebuilding T98's in the shop or sending them out?
Yes we have built them, been about a year since the last one.
That would have been my T98 Charles, yes?

Re: Fuel Pump Options

To be honest Warren, if you want reliability over originality I would install an electric pump and be done with the mechanical pump issues for good. Why dont you want to install an electric pump? I ran my vacuum wipers direct from the inlet manifold for about 2 weeks until I couldnt take the poor pe...

Re: Rear main seal

Careful when you are removing the flywheel, that thing is HEAVY !!
Do not try and remove it while you are directly underneath it.

Apart from that it comes apart easily. :)

I dont know why some people are surprised to find that most things are made in China. Ask any business what their main priority is, and they will say profit margin. If you dont have any margin, you aint got a business and you are unable to pay overheads including wages, taxes etc etc. :?
