Re: Timing help
That was the problem with mine. When I got it, the timing was so far advanced that I couldn't get it close. Removed the oil pump and reinstalled correctly, problem solved.

Re: front axle seal leaking
Started on the knuckle rebuild today. Got everything apart. Not a big chore, more degreasing than anything else. Found left front inner axle has pitting on the oil seal journal. I tried to polish it out but, still had a ridge and I decided to buy a new one, not cheap.. Now all is clean and ready to ...

Re: front axle seal leaking
Well, I hadn't planned on rebuilding the knuckles but, I guess if I have the spindles off, I might. Just need to buy the bearings and seal kits.
Thanks for the links and info, they will come in handy. I do have the manuals.

front axle seal leaking
I've notice the left front hub seal leaking oil. My assumpion is that the inner axle seal has gone south. I figure the bushings probably worn also. I have the tools to do the job and have bought the seals, bushings and new hub seals. Now the question, other than common sense and using the manual and...

Re: Cab canvas top removal questions.
Thanks for all of the replies. I think as soon as the weather warms, the top will come off. Might just try it for a while, doesn't sound too difficult. Not afraid of the work, just don't want to have to have another person helping, most help I get just gets in the way.

Cab canvas top removal questions.
I have been considering removing my cab canvas top and framework but, I've never tried it and was wondering how big a pain it is to remove and reinstall. Thought about going topless for parades. Here is present config.

Re: stuff for sale
It is for the fender mounted heater but, check your distance, I'm not either piece is long enough by itself. You could couple them together though. Don't want to sell you something that wouldn't work.

Re: log book
The log book bags I have, one is rubber coated/vinyl and the other is canvas, both have two clips on the upper back of the bags to evidently hand them on something with a vertical edge.

Re: log book
I don't remember what the logs looked like, I just got on on ebay that is 3 ring binder type, seems familiar. Don't know what the new generation ones look like, may be the one I just bought?

Re: log book
I remember signing for the 1/4 tons and the log book hung on the back of the drive's seat. Just wondering where we stuck the book in the 3/4 tons.
