Re: Anyone going to Iola
Yep, I will be there Thursday along with the girlfriend and her boy, some friends from Lancaster, Cuba city and Wausau, Wis. Not sure what we will have for green trucks since I'm still working on all of mine. We will be staying in the camping area with the blue Dodge with the slide in camper. We are...

Re: Untimely passing of my daughter
Phillip,
My prayers will be sent out to you and your family for your loss. Keep your head held high, hang in there, and celebrate her life, she would want it that way. You have a new angel looking out for you.
Paul in Wisconsin.

Re: 2012 Nationals
I may be making the trip. There are some parts that I'm interested in getting down by Atlanta, so I figure make the trip worthwhile and accomplish a few things . It all depends on whats going on at work.

Didn't they serve as a sort of bead lock. I know they don't make it any easier to break the tire down they get in the way

Re: Bed Box Drainage etc.
After sand blasting, I drilled a couple of small holes in the bed and crossmember for drainage and then I coated the inside of the bed crossmembers , floor of the bed and toolbox with POR 15 then while it was still tacky I sprayed a dust coat of primer. I have heard both good and bad about POR 15 , ...

Re: Have You Seen This ????
I'll throw in my 2 cents. If I can't drive it, I don't want it. Of my current vehicles that I am restoring ( m37b1, m422a1, m29c-without tanks) I plan on driving them. Yes, the m29c weasel will be used in fields and where-ever else I can use it ( no roads-Wisconsin ). I feel that these things were m...

Re: MAPP gas experience?
I used a mapp gas torch set YEARS ago for brazing ,it did alright, it used solid oxygen sticks to make oxygen. You had to light the sticks and they would burn creating oxygen somehow ( I think these were pretty dangerous especially in shipping). After I bought my first oxy-acetylene set I found a ne...

Re: Bumper Straightening Advice Needed
You might want to do some practicing on some scrap metal so you can find out what the steel will do. Presses are good but they can also stretch the metal and start distorting the whole bumper. Like posted above the heat and beat method can work as long as you take your time and don't go overboard on...

Re: Bumper Straightening Advice Needed
Heat it and beat it on a solid thick metal surface ( I used an anvil ) with a decent weight hammer. Don't beat the snot out of it otherwise it will stretch then it will be wavy ( especially if you heat it bright red as it gets too soft, dull cherry red makes it just pliable ).

Re: Swap Meet Question
Bob, Yep, you never know what you will find. Just look high and low, tables and floors and ask questions to the guys that have any m-37 parts that you might see there - they might have one laying around at home. Don't for get the regular car show/swap meets, to some the army trucks and parts are jus...
