Brake Bleeding

I need to bleed the brakes in my M-37 and was thinking of changing over to DOT 5 fluid and wanted to find out what others think of using it. What's your opinion of it? Also thinking of buying a Motive Products pressurized brake bleeder system. Does anyone know what adapter it takes to fit the M-37?

Can anyone post a photo or drawing showing where the holes for the jump seat and bed mounted spare are located? I know where they're generally located but I'd like to be sure which ones are for the seat and spare. Mine has holes all over it and I still don't know what most of them are for. I have a ...

Carter and Sal, yes that's exactly what I had in mind. Anything that could lift a cab is probably strong enough for me. I realize that overloading the springs is a possibility. It's something that I'd have to watch for and block up the frame or bumper if necessary. Carter, do you remember how long y...

A-frame for M-37?

I've been told that they made an A-frame that attached to the front bumper of the M-37 for lifting heavy objects. Does anyone know the dimensions or capacity or have a picture of one? I've seen one original A-frame on a Deuce and half and it was surprisingly small. I'd guess it was only about 8 foot...

I visited my buddy yesterday and he was NOT interested in parting with a 392 :-( I couldn't even get him to dig them out and show them to me!! He still has two and they're out gathering dust and spider webs in an old shed and he loaned the third one to someone else and it's sitting in an old rotting...

Bill said: what are my options, if any, for installing a military radio in my M that will/can be made to run on 12volts and will receive AM signals and broadcast them over an interior speaker? I listen to AM radio and a nice mil unit in my truck would still look normal. Thank you in advance-bill I'v...

9198 contract number?

I recently acquired a M-37 and last week I registered it on this site. One of the items that it asked for was the contract number. In my case my tag only says "9198". However a few nights ago I was looking at the ContractNumbers page on this site and found that the contact number like that...

There are rubber grommets the cables are routed through, sheet metal retainers for the grommet is attached in the small holes. Ahhh! I wondered about what kind of grommet should be used there. I just used the flexible grommet/edge guard that you can cut to length. Can you post a picture of what the...

Passenger seat cover in M37?

My '51 M37 looks like it still has the original seat covers in it. (Can you say RAGGED!?) I have a new seat of covers that I was going to install but when I looked at the original covers I noticed several problems. First, the cover is stapled to the wooden base and there is no drawstring it and it d...

R-392 radio in M37?

A friend of mine has several R-392 radios that are now gathering dust. I was considering getting one of them and installing it in my M37. I know they're both from the same time period but I can't find anything about them being used in the M37. Does anyone know if they were. Does anyone have a pictur...

holes in battery box, floor and pass seat frame?

I was looking at my M37 today and noticed that there are two large (~1") holes near the top of the passenger side seat frame and two more large holes in the floor directly below that and just in front of the seat frame. Also one small hole (~1/8") near the bottom of the seat frame. Anyone ...
