I'd say you had the repro ones if nothing helped pliability; they simply aren't made from the right material. The NOS ones could be boiled in water to warm them and would go on easy. Not these new ones, personally I can't understand why any honest seller would offer these, if we had stock of the rep...

We would do some additional reinforcement gussets from the back side of the receiver plate to the cross member. This way there would not be so much load riding against only the attachment bolts .

Charles, What you say is true but, the depth setting is not a set in stone, cannot be moved point. It is the starting point for the entire process. Once the final endplay is set and you die check the gears if the pattern is too low or high you will have to move the pinion in or out a hair. And then...

Rubber or cork. Yes. That would seem to make sense with the R and C. Thank you. I will add that the cork ones are the better choice.
