Re: Titling a Military Vehicle
Most of those companies that advertise for titles are a scam , You should look into BONDING the vehicle threw a bonding company ,basically you leave some money with the bonding company and they hold the paperwork for a specific period of time (usually a year)and if there are no claims against the ve...

Re: m37 12 volt starter
Is there a particular reason you want to switch to a 12 volt system ? The 24 volt system when it is working correctly is a pretty bullet proof system . By changing out to a "modern" system you have a lot of bits and pieces to change to go along with that . The distributor for one , if you ...

Re: Question on value of '63 M37 WC
I also think you need to find a MVPA member who is familiar with M37b 's . MV's are somewhat different then your average collector vehicle . I agree with all the above posts , #1 ,is NEVER trust ANYTHING at a AUCTION ! as they say buyer beware ! When I purchased my M37 ,I was looking for a good body...

Re: E85 fuel vs. regular unleaded
You have to wonder where this will all end up . No question this is to get all the "OLDER" vehicles off the road . I am not THAT old but I started with points and carburetors and basic engine controls . Your NEW (BETTER) vehicle flames out now better have towing, because you can't even sta...

Re: Pertronix kit number
That is the correct # . I just installed one in my M37 . I also removed the ignition capacitor , cut the back off and ran a wire direct to the coil . It took a little time but I used all the old connectors so the distributor looks stock . Works good . bob k

steering wheel removal on M37
:D I am in the process of trying to remove the steering wheel horn cover and button . The TM-9-8030 says to remove the the seal , how is the seal held on , looks like a stretch fit . I have a horn repair kit , so I am tempted to just cut it off . I can then remove the retaining plate and steering wh...

Re: alternator for m37
Every body ,Thanks for the info , I am going to go with the Delco unit that Charles recommends .I am trying to keep my M37 as original as possible , but bring the vehicle into the 21 century a little bit , and you sure can't beat a alternator for keeping the batteries up to snuff , especially as mos...

Re: alternator for m37
What about the pulley on the M37 , it uses the old wide fan belt , I did not check the diameter of the old generator shaft , Would that be a problem ? After reading wes's post I am inclined to go with a commercial 24 volt alternator , they are common with heavy equipment ,and a LOT cheaper that a re...

alternator for m37
:D I am in the process of installing new wire harnesses in my M37 , has anyone tried to install a late model military 60 amp alternator ( used on duce 1/2 and 5 tons) in place of the generator ? I can get a civilian 24 volt one wire alternator fairly cheap , but I am leaning towards the military 60 ...

Re: Best lube for winch preservation??
I have a FYI , on the worm gear oil , www.mscdirect.com has ISO460 oil in quarts and gallons at a decent price . It is fairly easy to find , but usually only in 5 gallon pails . They seem to be a industrial supply ,they have lots of good stuff on line. bob k

Re: 11" Canadian clutch needed
I would try A B Linn down in Salisbury, North Carolina , they have the whole set-up . I am not sure about the Canadian clutch spec's ,but you should be able to get by with the 10 or 101/2 " clutch . Bob k
