Check the points and the condensor.

There is a couple of good threads lateley on starting issues so I would review them for the basic troubleshooting process.

Continuing on my saga with my truck. I replaced the batteries with two new ones today as I was getting a dull yellow spark and my meter was showing the batteries in the red. A test at the battery supplier showed they needed replacing. I replaced the batteries and I get a reading in the mid yellow ra...

Coil cooling

343fireman1, I am facing some problems with a coil myself but not what you are mentioning. The cooling lines run from each side of the distributor across the block to the elbow connects to your carbureatour. It forces air thorugh the lines to cool the distributor so your thermostat can be eliminated...

Good point, might be a good article to disect a couple and send them to a testing lab with a copy of the mil-specs to see how they perform.

24v coils

I am interested in picking up an extra 24 volt coil for my truck. I seem to remember that there is a preference in makers of 24 volt coils US versus off-shore manufacture. This was several years ago and I am not sure of the availability of 24v coils. Perhaps Charles or someone with experience can ch...

I am still having problems getting my truck started. I replaced the points and the condensor, and checked the coil. When the engine turns over, I can get a spark jumping between the wire and the body of the spark plug. I checked the carberator and I have fuel going into the intake manifold. I defint...

Tim,

Yes, I got no spark.

The horn wire was unattached and was grounding to the engine block.

M37 Not Starting-Troubleshooting help needed

I was pulling my M37 out of storage today. I was able to get the truck started after charging the batteries, filling the gas tank and carb bowl and it started on the first try. I took the truck for a lap around the storage facility and parked it for the rollback to take it to the house. When I went ...

Not sure, the one I have was a former CD truck (big CD sticker on side) that I bought from near Sea Isle City in the early 90's.

I paid too much for it but I was young and just into M37's at the time. I have learned alot in tearing it down and putting it back together.

Cape May firetruck

I looked at the Cape May/Wildwood NAS M37 as well. Nick the red one up near Cape May Court House was across from a campground, at a garage. The owner kept it under a car port.

Passenger seat bottom cover

On the passenger seat bottom cover, what do you do about the hook on the front of the seat? I purchased a seat cover from Weebee Webbing and was not sure.

The cover overlaps the hook and was not sure.
